Digital is becoming the core element of competitive advantage and innovation for all businesses, therefore the CDO role is on the rise. However knowing exactly what the definition of CDO is or what the CDO does is not easily agreed on. What are the differences with the CIO? Is it just a question of a fancy name or are there structural variances? During this presentation William will share his experiences in the journey from CIO to CDO.

Keynote:   The Strategic Importance of Data and the Evolving Role of a CIO: A VC’s Perspective

Universities need to rebuild their organisational and technological infrastructure, and even change their ‘cultural DNA’, to  meet the challenges of the digital era, according to a new report titled The Role and Relevance of Universities in the Digital Economy co-written by Prof. Barber.  The report draws on a Presidents’ Conversation between some of the most forward thinking universities in Australia, the US and the UK.
