CAUDIT Awards Update - June 2020
What an erratic year 2020 has been so far, if only we could try turning it off and back on again!
The impact COVID-19 has imposed on member organisations has been exceptionally significant, requiring the implementation of a myriad of cost-saving measures and tactical procedures to successfully navigate this unprecedented time. The CAUDIT Executive Committee believe the innovative and increased workload executed by individuals working in IT is worth recognising now more than ever. The 2020 CAUDIT Awards will be held during the Spring Members Meeting virtual event to honour the profound work being accomplished by IT staff across member organisations.
More information about how this will look will be provided in the upcoming months.
In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions you may have.
Record number of CAUDIT Award submissions received
Nominations for the CAUDIT Awards 2020 have now closed. In total we have received 63 submissions (9 more than last year) from 24 member organisations across all 5 categories. Given current world events, and in particular, the impact of COVID-19, it’s now more important than ever to focus on the positive through recognising the talented individuals and amazing initiatives being rolled out across CAUDIT member organisations. The awards bring a sense of normality in this currently chaotic world and judging by the number of submissions received, it seems our members share this sentiment.
With COVID-19 consuming a great deal of attention, the judging timeline for the CAUDIT Awards has been slightly delayed. Currently, we are in the process of inviting judges and judging for each category will commence as soon as each judging panel has been finalised.
We have spent some time considering our options in how to best proceed with the presentation of the awards and decided to hold the Awards dinner later in the year, most likely at the Spring Members Meeting being held 30/09 - 01/10/2020. We feel this is the best solution in moving forward, and after so many months of uncertainty the need to come together to celebrate as a group seems more pertinent than ever. This means there will now be a longer gap between the announcement of award finalists and awarding the Award. We will fill the gap in between this time with regular promotion (CAUDIT newsletter, website and social media) of the nominated projects in each category.
We thank everyone from our member CIOs, nominators and nominees, sponsors and others who, in these very challenging of times, were still able to support the CAUDIT Awards and wish all those who have been nominated the very best!
