Cybersecurity Community September Update

NAUDIT Cybersecurity Community of Practice Establishment

Following a proposal to the NAUDIT Board of Directors from the CAUDIT Cybersecurity Chair to establish a NSW-ACT Cybersecurity Community of Practice (CoP), the NAUDIT Cybersecurity CoP met for the first time at UTS on Wednesday 22nd August.

The meeting was well attended by all universities (with one apology) and including a presentation from the CAUDIT Cybersecurity CoP Chair, an agent from the ASIO Counter Espionage and Interference section, AusCERT Operations Manager Mike Holm and VDIT Cybersecurity CoP Chair David Hird.

A second meeting will be held at Uni of Western Sydney in late October and will include a request for nominations to Chair the CoP. The establishment of the NAUDIT Cybersecurity CoP is part of establishing an Australian and NZ wide federated Cybersecurity CoP model under CAUDIT and is strongly supported by CAUDIT and actively encouraged by the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC).
