Participants have now returned home from the most successful Institute event held to-date.
Hailed as one of the best events run by the Leadership Institute, the 2012 program provided an interactive approach designed to enhance the leadership skills of Australian and New Zealand information technology and information resources managers in higher education.
The first nodes have been announced by the RDSI Project – located in Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide and Hobart. The University of Queensland is working with the Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education (DIISRTE) and CAUDIT to develop a national network of data stores where research data could be readily accessed, analysed and re-used and to support the retention and integration of nationally significant data assets.
During the Autumn CAUDIT Meeting, Members discussed their Top 10 issues for 2012. The following issues featured in the Top 10 and hence the VDI tour was initiated:
- Mobility and Personal Devices
- Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
- Meeting changing consumer needs
- Virtual Desktop
VDI is an interesting and complex environment, and probably one of the biggest shifts in the IT landscape over the next decade.
