CAUDIT Procurement December Update

19 Universities were due to renew their Microsoft Agreements by the end of November with the remaining due at the end of February 2019.

Microsoft have announced a price increase of 8% commencing on the 1st January 2019, however the new CAUDIT EES offers protection from this for the products under the agreement, with Azure services mostly affected.

With Oracle changing their pricing processes for Java SE, CAUDIT has been compiling information from Universities and Oracle, to gain a better insight on the impact on members. It appears that using Oracle Java beyond version 8 will have a significant cost impact globally, and there is no academic or education pricing available.

The Cybersecurity RFQ initial responses have been reviewed and the CAUDIT Panel of suppliers, as well as the detailed offer responses will be available from December 3, 2018 here. The panel offerings for cybersecurity training and phishing simulation are available to all CAUDIT members. Thanks to the Cybersecurity Community of practice for assisting with this initiative.

CAUDIT has received a revised draft offering from ServiceNow with updated products, application inclusions and pricing for both the EFSTL and A La Carte offerings. A more detailed update for members will be sent through as soon as possible. Once the offering has been fully released by ServiceNow, members will be given the opportunity to review and participate in a Q&A session with representatives from ServiceNow.

CAUDIT Procurement has assisted with the USLC Community of Practice nominations for their executive group.

Details regarding the Ovum partnership procurement offering have also been updated, and several new vendor offers are under review or in development.

As it is now getting close to the end of the year the CAUDIT webinar series will restart in February 2019. During the last month CAUDIT has hosted presentations from Information Builders, Ovum and Jade Software. Recordings of these sessions are available Contact CAUDIT Procurement for further information.
