Developing Australia's 2020 Cyber Security Strategy

The Australian Government has released a call for views in developing Australia’s 2020 Cyber Security Strategy – https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/reports-and-publications/submissions-and-discussion-papers/cyber-security-strategy-2020.

The Department of Home Affairs has called for submissions by no later than the 01 November 2019. Responses to 26 questions are invited.

To support collection of insights, workshops across the country are being held between 18 September and 29 October. Details of these are available from the link above.

The discussion paper (which includes the questions) is available at https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/reports-and-pubs/files/cyber-security-strategy-2020-discussion-paper.pdf.

CAUDIT has been strongly encouraged to provide a response to the discussion paper.

Member Representatives and members of the CAUDIT Cybersecurity Community of Practice who would like to contribute to this response, please provide contact Greg Sawyer, Strategic Initiatives Development Manager.  Greg will collate responses and run a proposed collated submission back past the membership and the Executive Committee.

Please forward all feedback to Greg by the end of Friday 18 October 2019.  We will hold a video meeting on 1:00pm AEDT Monday 14 October for anyone who wishes to discuss the questions and responses.  (Note: daylight saving commences Sunday 06 October.)  Connection details (via a meeting invitation which you can forward on) will be sent separately.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me or Greg Sawyer strategic-initiatives@caudit.edu.au, if you have any queries.

Members are also encouraged to provide individual institutional responses and may already have this underway.
