CAUDIT is leading the formation and coordination of an exciting new collaborative initiative – The Australasian Higher Education Cybersecurity Service (AHECS).
The AHECS aims to help safeguard the intellectual property and reputation of Australasia’s universities and research members by proactively supporting the adoption of practices designed to mitigate risk and counter ever-increasing cybersecurity threats.
Through AHECS, CAUDIT will collaborate with the sector to leverage and grow cybersecurity services which support and supplement universities’ own services through engagement, advice, advocacy, training and direct operational support.
We are looking for a cybersecurity professional with the skills and experience to work with CAUDIT members, AusCERT, AARNet, and an Advisory Council, to steer the development and provision of AHECS services to ensure that they meet the requirements of members and adapt to future security needs.
This position is responsible for actively developing, co-ordinating and leading the CAUDIT Australasian Higher Education Cybersecurity Service (AHECS) and progressing CAUDIT’s AHECS activities build strength and maturity within the Australasian higher education and research sector through engagement, advocacy, and support to members.
The position works closely with a broad range of stakeholders including Member Representatives, cybersecurity staff, CAUDIT Executive, sector leaders, government, industry and partners (AusCERT and AARNet) to promote and advance cybersecurity capabilities within the higher education and research sector.
The role is the central point for CAUDIT AHECS for cybersecurity expertise and collaborates with stakeholders and partners to coordinate sector wide services.
