Title: Institute Director

Sarah has been involved with the CAUDIT Leadership Institute for around 11 years, first as a participant and then as an active member of the faculty where she led a curriculum refresh and introduced team teaching. In 2019, she was appointed as the Institute Director and has been shepherding the program online after COVID-19 meant that the program could not run face to face.

Sarah has been in leadership positions for almost 25 years both in the UK and in Australia with the last 22 years in HE. She is proud to have established an award winning Service Desk team in the UK and has been in pursuit of excellence in every role she has undertaken. Sarah ran her own business for 5 years where she developed a strong sense of personal accountability which she feels is the key to successful leadership in any role. Sarah was a co-author of the Blended Learning Strategy at University of Wolverhampton, where she was not only Associate Director of IT but also a Lecturer in the School of Computing and IT and also a part time PG student.

During her time in HE, Sarah has developed a passion for learning space design and has been involved in learning space projects for over a decade. CAUDIT invited her to lead 2 learning space tours across Australia and she was responsible for initiating and leading the drive for learning space transformation at WesternU including leading the development of the Technology Masterplan for WesternU’s first vertical campus in Parramatta. Sarah led a significant cultural shift within IT Services including swapping roles with the Senior Manager, Infrastructure Services in 2014 achieving a significant service uptick in less than a year and has become well known across the sector as an expert in driving cultural change. Sarah led the development of Western’s first digital strategy which used student talent in its development and presentation. She was the CIO at UTS Insearch for 4 years where she once again developed a Digital Strategy and Transformation roadmap and most recently spent a year at Macquarie University helping the University Executive kick start their Operating Plan and establish an enterprise PMO, delivering a $43M program.
