Presentation Summary
This presentation delves into the latest evolution of the Higher Education Reference Models (HERM), specifically focusing on the significant updates introduced in version 3.1.0. A key highlight is the refined Application Reference Model (ARM), which has been enhanced to provide a more granular and relevant representation of higher education application capabilities. This revision addresses the dynamic needs of modern institutions, offering a robust framework for strategic application portfolio management.
Furthermore, the introduction of the Technology Reference Model (TRM) marks a pivotal advancement. The TRM, designed to work in conjunction with the ARM and Business Capability Model, provides a comprehensive view of the technological landscape, enabling institutions to align technology investments with strategic objectives. This integrated approach facilitates a holistic understanding of the digital ecosystem, fostering improved decision-making and resource allocation.
Globally, institutions are leveraging the HERM to streamline enterprise architecture, enhance interoperability, and drive digital transformation. Examples of international adoption will be showcased, demonstrating the model's practical application across diverse contexts. The presentation will explore how the HERM is being utilised to support strategic planning, improve service delivery, and enhance the student experience.
Looking ahead, the evolution of the HERM opens new avenues for innovation. By providing a standardised framework, the models empower institutions to foster collaboration, share best practices, and accelerate the adoption of emerging technologies. This presentation will hint at the potential for future enhancements and the opportunities these models present for the global higher education community.
