About the MortarCAPS Higher Learning Data Standard version 1.0
The MortarCAPS Higher Learning Data Standard provides a unified framework for managing higher learning data, enabling institutions to simplify complex systems, foster innovation, and align with national and global priorities. In partnership with MortarCAPS, we are excited to launch version 1, available to all CAUDIT members.
Developed in collaboration with more than 20 Australian higher learning institutions, including universities and TAFEs, this not-for-profit initiative aims to unify data frameworks across institutions. The collaboration is international with our colleagues in Canada, CUCCIO, already partnered and activity contributing to the development of the standard. Discussions are advancing with other international peers.
The key benefits of the MortarCAPS Data Standard include enhanced cybersecurity by reducing vulnerabilities across systems, streamlined integration processes allowing easier adoption of new technologies, and improvements in student experience. The MortarCAPS Data Standard also aims to support national priorities such as the National Skills Passport by enabling seamless credentialing and workforce mobility solutions
