Vale Steven Wojnarowski

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our colleague and friend, Steven Wojnarowski. Steven passed away last week surrounded by friends and family. We will feel the impact of his loss in our tight-knit team and across the CAUDIT network.

Steven made an immense contribution to the sector. He dedicated over a decade to leading the Insights and Analytics portfolio at CAUDIT and before that spent several years at Victoria University.

Those who knew Steven enjoyed his sharp mind, passion for numbers and quick wit.

Steven was a source of insight for so many of us, both personally and professionally. We hold fond memories of his generous, thoughtful and supportive approach to sharing data and helping the sector navigate complex and challenging environments.

Steven’s leadership of the Top Ten and Benchmarking activities will remain a testament to the knowledge and passion he contributed to the sector.

Our thoughts are with Steven's family and the CAUDIT family during this challenging time.  Steven will be greatly missed.

Steven’s Survey

by a member of the CAUDIT Team

If you could take a survey about a life so admired and respected

What insights, trends and patterns do you think could be expected?

Decades of experience he so readily shared

By guiding and inspiring he showed us he cared

Never too old for continuous learning

Never too shy to share thoughts that were churning

In the top percentile an outlying dot would surely mark his height

But greater than his stature was his drive and will and fight

With a well-known vendor, his displeasure, was very plain to see

What have they done now in ‘Lookout’ and ‘Steam’, ‘they should just let it be’

That vendor might sit and seriously ponder, how could we be greater?

CAUDIT knows, we learnt from the best, go gather and analyse the data!

As you end the survey you see a box with final comments to add

This part is hard, how can you think, with emotions so desperately sad

You wonder about his life as a child and love for the Apple Isle

His home and family in Melbourne and love for driving a country mile

Whatever you write, just take your time, to pause and think and reflect

The life of our special friend and colleague, who helped CAUDIT challenge, enable and connect

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts and goodbye, Mr Steven Wojnarowski
