Working in ICT is often a thankless job. ICT professionals go quietly about their work, taking pride in delivering good outcomes that are appreciated by those we support. When technology works, we think nothing of it. When it doesn’t, the response can sometimes be disproportionate to the impact, and often full of emotion. Such is the reliance on the service we provide.

I remember a time when we would lose internet connectivity when it rained hard enough, which back then went over radio links between institutions (like way back then). Thankfully this is no longer the case. Our institutions are backed by powerful platforms and services and supported by dedicated, hardworking ICT teams that are agile and responsive. Each year, we deliver the CAUDIT Awards as a way to acknowledge and showcase the amazing work being done by these dedicated ICT professionals.

The CAUDIT Awards highlight excellence and innovation by recognising, celebrating and promoting the outstanding achievements and innovation of staff working in ICT at CAUDIT member institutions. These staff have applied digital capabilities to positively transform the experience of students, academics, researchers, and professional staff across the sector.

This year we received 42 entries from 23 Member Institutions across Australia and New Zealand. To those entrants, and all the other hard-working and dedicated IT professionals across all CAUDIT member institutions that weren’t nominated, we thank you for the work you do every day.

We thank everyone who has helped us bring the 2022 CAUDIT Awards to life including the project teams, nominators, CIOs and our generous sponsors. We will announce the short listed nominations soon and the recipients of this year’s CAUDIT Awards will be announced at the CAUDIT Spring Members’ Meeting dinner.
